Hi, I am Tamara Cabrera. I am a trained conference interpreter from the renowned Conference Interpreting Program at the University of Granada, Spain (MA and Ph.D.), a Sworn Translator, certified by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, a TAALS Member, and the Founder and Director of GLOBALTRAD. My working languages are Spanish (A) and English (B).
I was born and raised in Spain and moved to the U.S.A. in 2012. I worked developing interpreting courses and programs for over 10 years and training the next generation of interpreters in public and private universities (Wake Forest University, Indiana University-Purdue University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). Simultaneous interpreters are not born; they are made, and bilingual language competence is the first step on a long, winding road. Becoming a simultaneous interpreter requires rigorous training to develop the skills to listen to and successfully render a message in real-time. Mastering this skill takes years of continuous practice. While in academia, I experienced firsthand the vast need for trained simultaneous interpreters who could cater to the growing communication needs in the U.S. market. In 2019, I followed my utmost passion and took a leap. As a result, I founded GLOBALTRAD LLC, one of the few language companies that offer almost exclusively simultaneous interpreting services for bilingual or multilingual events. Nothing brings me joy more than covering a new assignment. Offering top-quality conference / simultaneous interpreting services from and into English or Spanish is what I do best. My priority is ensuring that your message reaches your audience with the same meaning, completeness, strength, energy, and passion. Your success is my success, and I strive to make it happen.
Hi, I am Erika Kugler. I am a trained simultaneous interpreter from the prestigious Conference Interpreting program at Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires Argentina, a TAALS member, a U.S. Federal Court Certified Interpreter, and a Sworn Translator, accredited by the Colegio de Traductores Públicos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (CTPCBA).
I was born and raised in Argentina, and moved to the U.S. in 2007. I lived in the Chicago area until 2013 where I served as the Chicago Area Interpreters and Translators Association’s VP for Programs for over two years. In 2013, I moved to Cary, North Carolina, where I continued working as a conference and court interpreter. Simultaneous Interpretation is my passion; I have been in this profession for over 25 years, and my working languages are Spanish (A) and English (B).
Waking up every day knowing that I’ll be working on a new assignment/topic allows me to be somebody else’s voice for a few hours or days online or on-site anywhere in the world. I love this profession because of the different topics I learn and become familiar with, because of the very smart colleagues I work with and learn from, because of the relationships we build, and because we allow people who do not speak the same language to communicate, for example, in staff meetings, diplomatic settings, training workshops/webinars, conventions, conferences where new products/technologies are launched or discussed. Conveying any message with the same meaning, intonation, and effect is paramount to me. The sense of fulfillment of a job well done is just amazing.
